How To Make Plant Based Oat-milk

Going zero waste we finally had to say so long to some of our favourite oat milks and delve into the world of DIY diary free goodness! Check out our short video and follow the recipe/method below:


  • 1 Cup of Oats (We get ours from a refillable zero waste store)

  • 750ml Water (+ bowl full of water for soaking)

  • 1tspn Vanilla Extract

  • 1-2 Dates

  • Pinch of salt


  • Bowl

  • Thin Cloth

  • Spoon

  • Bottle


  1. Fill a big mixing bowl with water

  2. Pour 1 cup of oats in with the water and stir to cover them all

  3. leave to soak for 30 minutes

  4. Drain using sieve

  5. Pour oats into a blender

  6. Add 750ml of water

  7. Add 1-2 dates (Remove stones)

  8. Add 1tspn of Vanilla extract for sweetness

  9. Add a pinch of salt

  10. Blend until smooth

  11. Cover a mixing bowl with a thin cloth and pour the mixture over

  12. Gather the four corner of the cloth and lift. Get milking!
